This one-day course provides an overview of the current technology, allowing participants to discover (hands-on) some freely available AI tools and products and explaining their possibilities.

The course will cover the following aspects:

·       AI in the authoring process: for generating questions and source materials;

·       AI in the evaluation process: for assisting humans in evaluating and scoring questions, both written and oral;

·       AI in result processing: how can AI help to generate feedback or advice, how can it help to make data analysis more efficient and automated;

It will also look at artificial intelligence in language testing from the point of view of the candidate: to what extent can or may a candidate use AI when taking or completing a test. In addition, the course will address some burning questions such as "how can AI be used to detect or prevent fraud?".

The course tutorBert Wylin, has both an academic and a business profile.
He has worked at the KU Leuven since 1993, leading the Education Innovation Centre (integrating EdTech in education). In 2001, he founded a KU Leuven university spin-off, now Televic Education, developing and servicing an e-assessment platform.

Participants are advised to bring their own laptops to this course.

A more detailed programme will be available closer to the date.
